A dangerous mix of snow and rain makes it difficult for motorists in Bavaria.

It should continue to snow heavily until Sunday – especially in the south-east of the Free State.

Munich – Winter has arrived in Bavaria.

While south of Munich and especially in the south-east of the Free State Mother Holle shook out her pillow, a mix of snow and rain prevailed in the north.

This is particularly dangerous for drivers.

There is a risk of ice in many places.

There were already numerous accidents on Saturday night.

The snowfall and rain will continue into the weekend, so slow down.

Weather in Bavaria: Up to 60 centimeters of fresh snow possible in the southeast

So far it has snowed the most near the Alps. Things are particularly busy in the districts of Berchtesgadener Land, Traunstein and Rosenheim. The second highest warning level of the German Weather Service (DWD) still prevails here. An "official severe weather warning against heavy snowfall" until Sunday, 6 a.m. applies to the three regions. Up to 60 centimeters of fresh snow can be found here in traffic jams. In addition, it is stormy and there can be snowdrifts. Be careful on the road here.

once checked how much of the white powder had actually fallen down. In Ruhpolding (Chiemgau Alps) they report 16 centimeters of fresh snow. In the Bavarian Forest it is 14 centimeters and in Oberstdorf (Allgäu Alps) another eleven centimeters have been added.

It will continue to snow heavily around Munich on Saturday.

The snow band stretches up to Bayreuth and Hof.

Winter doesn't seem to dare to venture into the north-west, that is, to Lower Franconia.

This can also be due to a "concrete high" over Central Europe, writes

Wetteronline.de.

This has settled there and will not go away anytime soon, they say.

On its eastern flank, it shovels ice-cold polar air all the way to Turkey.

While on the west flank - including us - the weather is rather mild.

As a result, there will be a snow-rain mix in large parts of northern Bavaria.

And this is especially dangerous for motorists.

"In the transition from snow to rain, occasional black ice cannot be ruled out," says the DWD.

Weather in Bavaria: Numerous accidents in Bavaria at the start of the weekend

During the night, the weather was already fatal for many motorists.

There were seven accidents in the Bavarian Forest on Saturday night.

Three people were injured around Straubing, according to the police.

And in the Nuremberg region, a truck slipped into a ditch on the A9.

This dangerous mixed weather will continue through Saturday.

While south of the Danube it is winterly cold with an average of one degree and is snowing, the temperatures north of it continue to rise.

Up to six degrees are possible in Lower Franconia.

And at the snow-rain limit in Nuremberg it will be four degrees.

During the night, the precipitation continues to decrease and on Sunday it snows only sporadically in the extreme south-east.
