With the passage of days, the health condition of the Palestinian prisoner with cancer, Nasser Abu Hamid, becomes more dangerous and death threatens his life at any moment, while the Israeli occupation refuses to release him and continues to prevent his family and any other party from visiting him.

Naji Abu Hamid, the prisoner’s brother, said in a statement to Wafa Agency today that the information they received about his brother indicates that his health condition is very dangerous due to his body’s inability to expel the fluids that collect in his lungs, indicating that fears for his life are escalating as a result of the deliberate medical neglect that the occupation pursues against him where they keep him. Abu Hamid pointed out that the occupation authorities do not allow anyone to visit Nasser and check on his condition, whether the International Red Cross, the family or any other party, which confirms that his situation is very dangerous and that the occupation does not want anyone to inspect him.

For his part, a member of the Fatah Central Committee, Hussein al-Sheikh, explained that the occupation authorities reject Palestinian requests to visit the prisoner Abu Hamid in order to check on his health condition, appealing to international institutions to pressure the occupation to release him to receive the necessary treatment.

The cities of the West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip witness daily vigils in support of the prisoner Abu Hamid, who has been detained since 2002, calling for his immediate release.
