The struggle for the positioning of the traffic light on Amperstraße at the new fire station continues.

The municipal council has revised its decision for a double traffic light.

This would have been unlawful in the assessment of the district office.

Emmering - Now the community has to find a new solution - and relatively quickly.

The new traffic light should be ready when the fire brigade moves into its new home and the rescuers can guarantee that they can move out quickly.

No one could have imagined that the traffic light would cause such trouble in the municipality.

The existing system had to be relocated because it could get in the way of the rescuers moving out of the new fire station.

After a long struggle, the municipal council then decided to move the traffic light a bit to the north.

In addition, she was to have a twin south of Bachwörth Street.

This solution was controversial from the start.

Mayor Stefan Floerecke (CSU) feared that the southern traffic light would be too close to a tight right-hand bend on Amperstraße and that drivers would be able to see it too late.

Representatives of the police and district office share this view: the new traffic light would have been illegal.

The council therefore overturned its decision.

Now the board has to deal with the matter again.

"The topic of traffic lights will soon be back on the agenda," explains the manager in the town hall, Markus Pree, in an interview with the daily newspaper.

The administration will then propose a solution with only one traffic light to the committee.

"We're starting from scratch again," says the manager.

The topic had already been discussed several times in the building committee, in the committee for municipal building projects and in the municipal council.

Now the debate starts all over again.

The new fire station is scheduled to open in the summer.
