The district office in Bad Tölz wants to continue to tolerate the so-called Corona walks.

Now comes from the Wolfratshauser CSU harsh criticism of the decision.

Wolfratshausen

– The so-called walks by critics of the corona protection measures still do not have to be registered with the district authority in Bad Tölz in advance (we reported).

Harsh criticism of this decision by the district office comes from the local branch of the Wolfratshauser CSU*: "This is not a good example of rule-of-law action," said local chairwoman Claudia-Drexl-Weile in a press release published on Sunday.

Corona walks: district continues to tolerate unannounced meetings - criticism from the CSU

So far, “walks” have taken place seven times on Monday evenings in Loisachstadt. Most recently, according to the local police count, 950 people took part. In a top-level discussion in the district office, in which deputy district administrator Thomas Holz (CSU) and the heads of town hall and representatives of various police departments were involved, “the situation” was assessed and evaluated at the end of last week. The result: Basically, "the lack of notification of a meeting does not constitute a reason for dissolution," said the press spokeswoman for the district office, Marlis Peischer. The so-called walks are “protected by the fundamental right to freedom of assembly”.

At the moment it looks like the district office would have the meeting dissolved if five or ten citizens gathered unannounced.

If there are several hundred demonstrators, they are pinched.

This is not a good example of rule of law.

"WOR tolerant": Disappointment with the decision of the district office

Like the "WOR tolerant" initiative, which has already organized two counter-demonstrations, "we are also very disappointed by the reaction of the district office, which allowed the 'walkers' to do their thing, even though they deliberately commit an administrative offense and provoke the rule of law," explains Drexl- While. According to the CSU in Wolfratshausen, “this is not, as stated by the district office, about weighing up the proportionality of freedom of assembly and violation of a regulation: no one has ever demanded or threatened to forbid the 'walkers' to walk through the city”. But the protest rallies advertised on social networks "only have to be registered, not approved". According to Drexl-Weile, "It's about whether these protesters go on their 'walk',which is undisputedly classified by the authorities as an assembly, must register or not". The CSU local chairperson has the impression that "if five or ten citizens gather unannounced, the district office would have this assembly dissolved". "Several hundred demonstrators are pinched. This is not a good example of the rule of law."

Corona "walks": CSU supports counter-demonstrations in Wolfratshausen

The CSU supports the "WOR tolerant" initiative and expressly welcomes its activities. All CSU members are called upon to participate in the actions of the group "as private individuals" Drexl-Weile: "It should be emphasized that 'WOR tolerant' relies absolutely on peaceful and de-escalating action." about party politics nor about "differences of interest in political action". But: "It's about standing together as a society and supporting the commitment of every single citizen."

Konrad Huber, one of the initiators of "WOR tolerant", expresses himself on the group's Facebook page "disappointed" that "the district administrator or his deputy did not show a clear edge against wild walks". Huber refers to a statement by Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU), according to which "a ban is very well covered by law and does not violate the Basic Law". According to Huber, other districts “have shown more backbone here”.

The initiative has not registered a demonstration for this Monday due to the extremely high incidence of corona in the district.

The counter-protests would "definitely continue," announces Huber.

"Soon again with a larger campaign in the market." One goal of "WOR tolerant" is "that calm returns to Wolfratshausen and this ghost disappears".
