Be it to be able to remember the wedding day better or to have a nice inscription in the wedding ring: February 22nd, 2022 is a special date.

Individual couples in the district who are willing to marry have already reserved this day.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – February 22, 2022 is fully booked in many registry offices in Lower Saxony.

In a survey by the German Press Agency, many town halls stated that they would use more registrars on this day in order to be able to cope with the unusually high number of weddings.

In the three cities in the district, the demand is different.

February 22nd is a Tuesday this year - and therefore a rather unusual time to get married.

"Fridays and Saturdays are very popular," explains Birte Otterbach, press spokeswoman at the Tölz town hall.

Against this background, the registry office states that some are guided by the special date.

"But it's not the crazy hype," reports Otterbach.

Schnapszahl dates in Bad Tölz are no longer available

Nevertheless: February 22, 2022 is fully booked with three weddings in Bad Tölz and one in Bad Heilbrunn - the municipality is part of the registry office district.

Four couples have also reserved February 2nd, 2022, a Wednesday.

There are two dates in the calendar for Saturday, February 12, 2022.

Schnapszahl dates in Bad Tölz are therefore no longer available.

Unlike in the wedding stronghold in the district - Bad Tölz offers popular wedding rooms with the city museum, spa house and planetarium - those responsible in Geretsried and Wolfratshausen did not find any abnormalities.

"So far, a marriage has been registered for February 22nd, 2022, and there have been no further inquiries," reports Thomas Loibl, press spokesman at Geretsried town hall.

In general, rather special personal dates are popular, such as anniversaries.

Wolfratshausen still has capacity

This is confirmed by the head registrar in Wolfratshausen, Petra Konrad.

Her observation on Schnaps numbers: "Such dates are popular in big cities, but less so outside of us." She remembers that August 8, 1988 and September 9, 1999 were particularly in demand, but meanwhile interest in Schnaps numbers has waned, says Konrad.

Dates have been entered for February 2nd and 22nd.

"But there would still be something free."
