A magnitude 3.7 earthquake struck 16 km northeast of Beit She'an last night (Saturday). Residents in Haifa and the north reported feeling the quake. Police said no casualties or damage were reported, and no tsunami alert was issued.
An earthquake was also felt in Jordan and Cyprus.
It will be recalled that only two weeks ago, a magnitude 5.6 earthquake was felt in Israel, originating in Cyprus.
The quake was also felt in Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt (a magnitude 6.6 earthquake was reported recently).
