Fear at the base:
The military prosecutor's office last week filed a serious indictment against an IDF soldier in compulsory service serving at a classified Air Force base, where the soldier is charged with three different cases of indecent assault on a female soldier.
Immediately after the incident, the soldier turned to her commanders, who treated the soldier quickly and continued to accompany her closely.
According to the first charge, between the defendant, a soldier with the rank of private, and the female soldier, there was a superficial and short-term acquaintance, against the background of their joint service in the unit.
On December 14, 2021, around 9:00 PM, the defendant and the female soldier attended a social gathering with other soldiers at the unit's base.
The two talked to each other, and during the conversation the defendant told a female soldier sentences like "there are men who are not good at this", and "I am good in bed".
The soldier did not respond to the defendant's words.
After a while the soldier told the defendant that she was going to sleep, he offered to accompany her to the residence and the two left the place.
The two spotted wildlife passing by, then sat down on a concrete staircase near the unit’s kitchen and had a small talk.
The defendant touched the soldier's hair and kissed her, and the soldier recoiled and moved her head.
Despite this, the defendant did not stop his actions, put his hand on her head and kissed her once more.
She froze and did not respond
The second charge in which the soldier is charged is an indecent act by force.
After detailing the first charge, the defendant and the female soldier got up and started walking away.
As they passed through an iron gate, the defendant picked up the female soldier with his hands so that her legs did not touch the ground, and carried her to a nearby warehouse.
At this point, the soldier froze and did not respond.
The defendant entered the warehouse carrying the female soldier in his hands, placed her and stood between her and the warehouse door.
The soldier told the defendant that she was claustrophobic, and the defendant did not respond.
The defendant closed the door of the warehouse almost until it was completely closed, and kissed the female soldier against her consent, and whenever she asked him to stop, he kissed her again so as not to allow her to speak.
According to the indictment, the defendant touched the female soldier over her pants for several minutes, and rubbed his penis against her penis while they were dressed.
The defendant allegedly pulled the soldier's hand in his direction while resisting, and according to the indictment, "a short fight developed between the two."
The soldier tried to push the defendant with her hands, and at one point he even told her: "Stop pushing me."
The female soldier verbally objected to the defendant's actions, and throughout the incident she told him "stop", "I want to go to sleep" and more.
During the period described, the defendant blocked the exit from the warehouse with his body and stood between it and the door.
Only after several attempts did the soldier succeed in convincing the defendant to leave the warehouse.
In particular the third charge is described that after these incidents the two came out of the warehouse and approached a nearby staircase, and the accused sat down on the stairs.
He then tried to get the female soldier to sit on it, but the female soldier sat down next to him.
Defendant told the female soldier, "After what he owed a cigarette," then, according to the indictment, he put his hand under her shirt and stroked it in the abdomen.
In response, the soldier told him, "You are exaggerating," and then he put his hand under her bra.
The soldier told him to stop, got up and said to him: "Come, let's go."
The IDF responded: "On January 16, 2022, an indictment was filed against an IDF soldier, for offenses involving an indecent act by force and an indecent act committed on another female soldier inside a military base. The military prosecution requested the soldier's detention until the end of the proceedings. The relevant factors are "The IDF takes any incident of sexual harassment seriously, and will work to enforce the law."
