Today, an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale hit the city of Tabriz, northwest of Iran.
The Geophysical Institute of Tehran University said that the epicenter of the tremor was at the confluence of longitude 46.35 degrees east and latitude 38.02 north, at a distance of 8 kilometers from the city of Tabriz, the center of Azerbaijan province.
The Foundation reported that the people of the city felt the tremor of medium strength and rushed to the streets despite the bitter cold and heavy snowfall.
