The Bank of East Asia announced that an employee of the bank's Tuen Mun Town Plaza branch was initially diagnosed with the novel coronavirus disease.
In the past 14 days, the employee only went to work at the branch on January 21 and wore a mask during work.
The Bank of East Asia stated that Tuen Mun Town Plaza Branch (including safe deposit box service) and its SupremeGold Centre will be temporarily suspended from January 24 (Monday) until further notice.
The bank will also conduct comprehensive cleaning and disinfection of the above-mentioned facilities.
All employees of Tuen Mun Town Plaza Branch will be tested for the virus in accordance with the guidelines of the authorities, and can return to work after obtaining a negative result.
In view of the changes in the epidemic situation, the bank has arranged for colleagues to work in different locations, work shifts, or stay at home to work according to the work situation of different departments.
At the same time, the bank adjusted branch business hours and took other epidemic prevention measures to ensure the safety of customers and colleagues.
