Thai police announced today that a Briton was killed and another wounded in a knife attack in western Thailand, and that they had arrested a suspected perpetrator.
Reuters quoted sources in the Kanchanaburi provincial police as saying that they found the body of the 49-year-old Briton in his home, while another Briton, aged 55, was wounded in the same attack and is undergoing treatment in hospital.
Police added that their initial investigations indicate that a Thai man attacked the two victims with a machete and was arrested, noting that they are seeking to gather more evidence.
Local media reported that the suspect had mental health problems and police said they were investigating.
