Deadly fire in Tai Po|Mother sends dead son to hospital, police treat it as manslaughter and suicide

A deadly fire broke out in Xinxing Garden in Tai Po this morning (23rd), the 62-year-old mother was sent to hospital and died, and the 31-year-old son fell to his death. The police and fire department investigated the cause of the fire. No accelerants, or items that could cause explosions in compressed gas tanks and electrical appliances were found at the scene.

The officers did not leave until the evening, and the case was later reclassified as manslaughter and suicide.


The fire was quite violent, and the fire spread to several floors of units.

The incident occurred at 3:39 in the morning. A fire broke out in a unit on the middle floor of Hong Shing Court, Xinxing Garden, No. 2, On Puli, Tai Po. The window grilles flew from the unit to the ground, and the sound of the explosion alerted many nearby residents to the police.

Officers rescued a woman surnamed Liang (62 years old) in the unit, but she was unconscious when she was rescued, with blackened face and burns on her left hand. Age) son jumped from his room and fell unconscious on the platform of the building. He died on the spot.

A man fell from the height of the building, and ambulancemen arrived to confirm his death and his body was covered in white cloth.
