Long-term planning in times of a pandemic is difficult.

But Michael and Peter Gascha dare: the two landlords are planning the Lenggrieser Festwoche from August 5th to 15th.

Lenggries -

"People thirst for it," says Michael Gascha.

That's why you'll just try it after the two-year forced break.

A concert evening is also planned.

The guest on Monday, August 8th is Melissa Naschenweng from Carinthia.

"In Austria, it fills halls with 6,000 to 10,000 visitors," says Michael Gascha.

And the musician with her folksy hits is also becoming increasingly popular in Germany.

With her live album "Bergbauernshow" Naschenweng stormed the hit charts in December and even left Helene Fischer behind.

Tickets for the concert are on sale. "And he's doing very well. More than half the tickets are gone,” says Gascha. 1400 visitors - as of now - are allowed into the marquee that evening. "Lenze & de Buam" and "Brass da la Vista" will also be on stage on August 8th. Start is at 7 p.m., admission from 6 p.m. The then current Corona access regulations apply. Otherwise, the first festival weekend belongs to the Lenggrieser fire brigade. This year it will celebrate its 150th anniversary, which should have been celebrated in 2021. There is live music every day in the beer tent. However, some regular bands are no longer there. "Manyana, for example, no longer exists," Gascha regrets. But the well-known showmen are back on board. "Fortunately, they have all survived the crisis so far," says the landlord.

The two festival hosts in Lenggries are not the only ones who are optimistic about the festival summer.

The planning of this year's Schlager summer has also already been planned in the Fürstenfeldbruck district.

With Howard Carpendale, even a very big star is supposed to take part.

Lenggrieser Festival Week: Beer tent from August 5th to 15th

But some things will be different due to the pandemic. Gascha is currently assuming that the 2G rule applies to the entire festival area. Therefore, the area will probably have to be fenced off and access controlled. "Of course, the effort is greater," says Gascha. "But of course we are also very happy." For him and his brother, organizing the festival week is "a matter of the heart" - of course there is support from the whole family. Incidentally, it is still unclear at the moment which beer will be served in the tent. Because the contract with long-term partner Spaten has expired. "We are currently in talks with three breweries," says Gascha. Whichever beer - for Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher, the start will definitely be a premiere. He will be officially tapping a keg for the first time.
