The Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, discussed with the Director-General of the Arab Center for Studies of Arid Zones and Arid Lands, Dr. Nasr El-Din El-Obeid, ways of cooperation between the two sides.
During the meeting, which was held today at ACSAD headquarters in Damascus countryside, the two parties discussed the scientific and technical agreement signed between the two sides, especially in the implementation of the research project, the optimal management of gray water uses in agriculture in arid and semi-arid areas, with the aim of studying the possibilities of rationalizing and saving water through the use of treated gray water in agriculture. The two sides agreed to expand joint work to include preparing an integrated study and implementing the environmental garden project at the National Center for Excellence affiliated to the Ministry of Education to be a scientific nucleus for generating knowledge in protecting the ecosystem and developing research and studies, in addition to joint coordination in preparing training bags in the field of water resource management and rainwater harvesting.
The two sides also discussed cooperation in the field of professional development, especially modern technologies, and the preparation of documentaries on experiments, research and modern agricultural machinery to be shown on the Syrian educational space.
On the 19th of last September, the Ministry of Education and the Arab Center for the Studies of Dry Areas and Arid Lands Organization (ACSD) signed an agreement to enhance scientific and research cooperation and exchange experiences and information between the two sides.
