Freising
– On Saturday night, a small van burned out completely on Kreisstraße 8.
As reported by the police, the 25-year-old driver was on his way from Freising to Wippenhausen around 11:30 p.m.
While driving, the car suddenly began to smoke, which is why the driver pulled over to the side of the road.
As he got out to investigate, flames suddenly erupted from the engine compartment.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
The vehicle burned out almost completely before it could be extinguished by the fire brigade.
It was then taken away by tow truck.
"The cause of the fire was a technical defect," writes the police.
The county road was completely closed while the fire was being fought.
The Freising and Hohenbercha fire brigades were deployed with 17 forces.
The property damage is estimated at around 15,000 euros.
