In Burkina Faso, angry soldiers demand the departure of military leaders

The soldiers who expressed their anger on Sunday in several barracks in Burkina Faso, are calling for the "

" in the fight against the jihadist groups which strike their country, according to a sound recording.

" of the highest ranking officers of the national army, indicates in this recording and on condition of anonymity, a soldier from the Sangoulé Lamizana barracks in Ouagadougou, one of those where shots were fired for several hours on Sunday.

This soldier also called for "

At no time did this soldier demand the departure of Burkinabe President Roch Christian Kaboré, accused by a large part of the population of being "

" of countering jihadist groups.

Shots were fired on Sunday in several barracks in Burkina Faso, including three located in the capital Ouagadougou, shots recognized by the government which denied "

" and affirmed that the institutions were not not threatened "

".

These movements in Burkinabe barracks come the day after new demonstrations of anger from residents exasperated by the powerlessness of the authorities to deal with the jihadist violence that is ravaging Burkina Faso, repressed by the police.

Burkina Faso has been caught since 2015 in a spiral of violence attributed to armed jihadist groups, affiliated with Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State group.

Attacks targeting civilians and soldiers are increasingly frequent and mostly concentrated in the north and east of the country.
