Nusrat Ghani, a member of the British House of Commons, revealed that she was excluded from a ministerial position in the Conservative government headed by Boris Johnson on racist reasons.
Ghani, who lost her position as Minister of State for Transport in February last year, said: "A party discipline official in the House of Commons told me that my Islamic religion was brought up as an issue during my dismissal at the Downing Street reshuffle and that my status as a Muslim minister made my colleagues feel uncomfortable. “.
"I will not pretend this has not shaken my faith in the party and I have at times thought seriously about whether to continue as an MP," she said.
Opposition Labor leader Keir Starmer said the Conservatives should immediately investigate Ghani's allegations.
Johnson's Conservative Party has previously faced accusations of Islamophobia, and a report in May last year criticized the party's handling of complaints of discrimination against Muslims.
Ghani's comments come days after her colleague, William Ragg, chair of the Committee on Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs in the House of Commons, revealed that Johnson's government is blackmailing members of the House to keep the latter in office.
