Palestinian Civil Affairs Minister Hussein al-Sheikh wrote tonight (Sunday) on his Twitter account: "I met tonight with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and discussed with him some political and bilateral issues. I stressed the need to create a political horizon."

This is the second meeting of a senior Israeli official with a Palestinian representative in the past month.

At the end of December, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz hosted Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas at his home in Rosh HaAyin.
