A double strike in the first half dashed Auer's dreams of a win against Schalke early on.

For the relegation-threatened Saxons it was the sixth game in a row without a win.

Aue - FC Schalke 04 has the power in the shaft. FC Erzgebirge Aue missed the surprise against the Bundesliga relegated team and had to admit defeat 0:5 (0:2) in a duel with friends on Saturday evening.

After the sixth consecutive game without a win, FCE remains penultimate in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Simon Terodde (36th minute) and Andreas Vindheim (38th) put the guests on course for victory with a double strike.

In front of 1000 spectators, Danny Latza (51./63) made the preliminary decision with a brace, Marvin Pieringer (72.) made the final score.

Schalke, who celebrated their first away win since mid-October, were superior from the start.

However, the guests lacked the penetrating power in the last third, where Aue defended largely without problems.

Newcomer Prince Owusu (14th) had the first big chance for the hosts, but he didn't get enough pressure on a cross from Ben Zolinski.

Shortly afterwards, Terodde (18th) had his first big chance, but keeper Martin Männel blocked the striker's shot.

Ten minutes later the ball falls again at Terodde's feet, and Männel is there again.

At the third attempt, the Aue captain was powerless.

A low ball from debutant Vindheim caused chaos in the penalty area, Terodde somehow got the ball and scored the deserved lead.

Two minutes later the inverted image.

Terodde gets the ball in a transition situation, sends Vindheim and the Norwegian thrashes the ball into the goal.

In injury time in the first half, referee Arne Arnink took back a hand penalty given to Schalke after video evidence.

Malcolm Cacutalua was hit only in the upper body.

Aue came out of the break with momentum - but Schalke immediately gave the spoilsport.

After FCE miserably missed a counterattack by substitute Nikola Trujic (50th), the miners' joker did better.

Latza was in the right place in the penalty area and only had to put his foot down to score the third goal after a preliminary work by Pieringer.

Team boss Marc Hensel tried an offensive change, bringing in Dimitrij Nazarov for Zolinski.

But the goal fell on the other side.

Latza headed in and got the ball completely unchallenged after a cross from Vindheim. Aue practically surrendered, Pieringer thanked him with his second goal of the season.
