Situation in hospitals: Corona wards are full, emergency rooms at standard occupancy
A review of hospitals across the country shows that the combination of medical staff in isolation and full corona wards is the salient figure.
The emergency rooms are busy as usual this season, though no more than usual, and even in most of the internal wards the occupancy exceeds 100%, as is customary in winter

The place where the peak of the omicron wave is felt is in hospitals, of course.
The stress as a result of the integration of medical teams into isolation, corona wards filling up and full internal wards accumulating.
Probably the most significant figure concerns the corona departments.
In most hospitals, their occupancy is more than 100%.
Given the fact that the number of daily infections is very high, and that patients are likely to continue to flow to them in the coming days, this is a cause for concern.
However, an examination of the current situation in the various hospitals around the country reveals a standard picture relative to the season.
We examined three parameters: the occupancy rate in the inpatient and corona wards, the number of workers in isolation from the medical staff, and the rate of congestion in the emergency rooms.
In the inpatient wards and emergency rooms, occupancy usually ranges from 100% to 120%, a fairly familiar picture in winter hospitals.

Hospital At Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, occupancy in the internal medicine departments is about 120 percent. There are no data regarding the occupancy rate in the corona departments, as it was reported that Hadassah is opening corona departments as needed.
Among the hospital staff, 700 people are in isolation in their homes.
In the emergency rooms at Hadassah, the occupancy is quite high and reaches about 160%.
Shaare Zedek
At Shaare Zedek Hospital, occupancy in the inpatient and corona wards is more than 100%.
Of the total staff, about 240 are in isolation, which is about five percent of all employees.
The occupancy rate in the emergency room at the hospital stands at 130%.
Soroka Medical Center
At Soroka Medical Center, occupancy in the internal medicine departments is about 75%.
About 4.4 percent of all physicians and 4.7 percent of nursing staff are in isolation.
Occupancy in the emergency room in Soroka reaches 100%.

Wolfson Hospital:
Occupancy in the inpatient wards at Wolfson Hospital is 100%.
The corona wards in Wolfson are crowded and occupancy stands at 126%.
Eight percent of staff members are in isolation.
The emergency room at the hospital was full and at 12:00 the occupancy was 100%.
Assaf Harofeh Hospital:
Occupancy in the internal medicine departments at Assaf Harofeh is 110%.
Corona departments also have 110% occupancy.
Among the staff, out of a total of about 4,000 employees, 214 are verified for Corona and about another 70 are in isolation.
The occupancy rate in the emergency room was 90% in the morning, but Assaf Harofeh notes that it is high occupancy, since the pressure starts mainly at noon.
It was also reported that most of the pressure is felt in the corona sorting, which is separate from the general sorting.

Beilinson Hospital:
The load on Beilinson's inpatient wards reaches 103%.
Occupancy in corona wards stands at 90%.
About five percent of medical staff are in isolation.
The load in the emergency rooms reaches 120% in Beilinson.
Barzilai Hospital:
In Internal Medicine Department A in Barzilai, the occupancy rate is 133%.
In boarding school B about 107%, in boarding school C about 85% and in boarding school D about 75%.
In the Corona B department, the occupancy reaches 91%.
In Corona C to 121% and in Corona D to 140%.
Out of about 3,000 staff members at Barzilai Hospital, 131 are in isolation.
The load in the emergency rooms in Barzilai stands at 97%.

Assuta Hospital in Ashdod
At Assuta Hospital in Ashdod, occupancy in the inpatient and corona wards reaches 110%.
The number of staff members staying in isolation is 60, out of about 1,500 in total.
Occupancy in the emergency room in Ashdod is 150%.
Rambam Medical Center:
Occupancy in the internal medicine departments at Rambam is slightly more than 100%. It is difficult to estimate the difference between the internal medicine departments and the corona wards, since patients are constantly moving between the wards in the two aforesaid classifications.
About ten percent of all nurses, 160 in total, are in isolation. The problem is especially serious, Rambam says, when it comes to isolating intensive care nurses, because there should be one for every two patients, and this week it will probably be necessary to move to a nurse for every three patients. About five percent of all doctors, 75 in number, are in isolation

Galil Medical Center:
Occupancy of the internal medicine departments at Galil Medical Center is 120%.
The occupancy rate in the corona departments stands at 87%.
The total rate of workers in isolation stands at ten percent.
Among medical and nursing staff, five percent are in isolation.
Occupancy in the emergency rooms at Galil Medical Center is 102 percent.
Poria Hospital: Poria
Hospital has 120% occupancy in the internal medicine departments.
Occupancy in corona wards stands at 100%.
Out of about 1,500 workers in Poria, 110 workers are in isolation.
The occupancy rate in the emergency room in Poria is 110%.

Carmel Hospital:
At Carmel Hospital, the capacity of the corona wards is about 95%.
About ten percent of staff members are in isolation.
Occupancy in the emergency rooms at Carmel Hospital is about 90%.
Bnei Zion Medical Center At Bnei Zion
Medical Center, the workload in the internal medicine departments reaches about 95 percent of the maximum occupancy.
In the corona departments, occupancy reaches 100%.
Out of a total of about 2,500 workers, about a hundred are in isolation.
The load in the emergency room in Bnei Zion reaches about 120%.
Hillel Yaffe
Hospital At Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Dera, the occupancy rate in the internal medicine departments is about 120%.
The corona wards at the hospital are at full capacity and more.
No exact percentage was provided.
45 employees from the medical staff are in isolation.
The emergency room at Hillel Yaffe Hospital is completely full and all the beds in it are staffed.
