Temperatures tend to decrease and remain below their rates by about 2 to 4 degrees Celsius as a result of the country being affected by a weak extension of a shallow depression accompanied by cold and humid southwestern currents of polar origin in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

And the General Directorate of Meteorology expected in its bulletin this morning that the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy and rainy at intervals over separate areas of the country, and the precipitation during the evening and night hours will turn into snow or mixed with snow, especially in the northern, central and island regions, and snowfalls on the mountainous heights exceeding more than 1100 meters and during the night the weather remains very cold and warns of the occurrence of frost and ice formation in most areas.

The winds will be southwesterly moderate, with active gusts exceeding 75 km/h, especially on the coastal areas, and the sea is moderate to high, and the waves are high.

Tomorrow, the weather will continue to be partly cloudy to cloudy and rainy at intervals over separate areas of the country, and snowfall will be on the mountainous heights of more than 1000 meters, and precipitation mixed with snow, especially on the northern, central and island regions. The weather remains very cold and warns of frost and ice formation in most areas.

Some governorates have witnessed rainfall of varying intensity during the past 24 hours, the highest of which was 48 mm in Slunfeh in Lattakia Governorate and 30 mm in Wadi Al-Ayoun in Hama Governorate.

According to the Rain Enhancement Project Bulletin issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, the percentage of precipitation was 9 mm in Homs, Nazareth, Qal'at al-Hosn, Marmarita, 6 mm, Shen, 6 mm, Arida, Tal Kalakh, 5 mm, Tal Du 3, and Rastan 2 mm.

In Hama governorate, 30 mm were recorded in Wadi al-Ayoun, Ain Halaqim 27 mm, Rusafa 25 mm, Masyaf 22 mm, Rabu 12 mm, Muhradah 7 mm, Harbanafsa 6, Suran 5 mm, Hama and al-Hamiri 2 mm and Saan 1 mm. 12 mm, Apamea 11, and Suqaylabia 10 mm.

In Tartous, it was in Hammam Wasel 21 mm, Qadmous and Sheikh Badr 20 mm, Drakeish 19 mm, Banias 15 mm, Tartous 13 mm, Safita 11 mm, Mashta al-Helou 10 mm, and Safwa 8 mm.

In Lattakia, it was recorded in Slafeh 48 mm, Wadi Qandil 33 mm, Bahlouliya 29 mm, Buqa 25 mm, Kasab 24 mm, Qotaibiya 16 mm, Al Haffah 15 mm, Lattakia and Al Muzaira’a 10 mm, Al Basil Airport 9 mm, and Qardaha 4 mm.

In Aleppo governorate, 4 mm were recorded in Aleppo, in Azaz and Aleppo Airport, 2 mm, and in Al-Bab and Al-Safira 1 mm.
