Tragic accident on the Wendelstein: According to the police, a skier found a dead person on Saturday, January 22, on the northern side of the Wendelstein.

According to initial findings, this was a 41-year-old man of Czech nationality who lived in the Starnberg district.

As the investigations of the Alpine Task Force (AEG) revealed to the police, an accident can be assumed.

The operation took place on Saturday afternoon in the area of the "Zeller Scharte", below the so-called "Hotelhang".

The skier found the lifeless man there around 4 p.m.

When he found that there were no signs of life from the person lying there, he immediately called the emergency services for help.

According to the current status of the investigation, a serious fall may have been the cause of death.

However, more details have to be clarified by an autopsy.

There is no evidence of third-party involvement.
