The massive voluntary resignation movement that has been sweeping America since the start of the pandemic continues to surprise.
Since the first confinements, in March 2020, some 48 million Americans have voluntarily resigned.
Nearly a quarter of employees in the United States plan to change jobs this year.
Even in a country where the average employee normally only keeps their job for four years, this wave of departures is unprecedented.

In November (latest federal data available) more than 4 million Americans still voluntarily chose to leave their jobs.
Before the pandemic, the number of voluntary departures hovered around 2 million per month.
