Missing search in Bavaria ends tragically: body recovered from Main
The officials initiated a public search with a photo and a description of the person.
After numerous clues, the missing person's vehicle was found under the Main Bridge in Ebensfeld on Wednesday evening (January 12).
A large number of fire brigade and police forces searched for the missing person well into the night.
However, the search measures were unsuccessful.
The high water level of the Main made the search more difficult.
"On Sunday morning, around 35 emergency services from the local fire brigade, the water rescue service and the DLRG continued the search on the Main with the help of five boats," reports the police.
They discovered the man's body at the height of the Altmainsee.
The Coburg criminal police have taken over the further investigations.
