The General Union of Arab Producers confirmed that the late director Bassam Al Mulla was one of the pillars of Syrian and Arab drama and formed a distinct case in Syrian drama and was one of the most prominent symbols of the Levantine Environment series that gained great fame.
The union's president, Dr. Ibrahim Abu Zekry, said in a statement today that the director's departure is a loss for Syrian drama, as his works have won great popularity in the Arab world, offering his deepest condolences to the Arab public and the families of the deceased, and to the Arab artistic family in general and Syria in particular.
Abu Zekri added that the director, Al-Mulla, is a symbol of culture, his influence has spread to the media and cultural circles in Egypt and the Arab world.
And the death was absent yesterday morning, director Al-Mulla, who is one of the most important drama directors in Syria and the godfather of the Levantine drama environment, at the age of 66, after a health crisis he suffered during his stay in Lebanon.
