Dachau – The escape from the police ended on Friday evening for a 43-year-old driver in a tree and finally in prison.
At around 9:45 p.m., a patrol from the Dachau police wanted to subject the driver of a VW Golf to a traffic check on Würmstrasse. When the 43-year-old man saw the patrol car stop signal, he suddenly accelerated and fled through the residential area at excessive speed, according to the police in their press report. At the junction of Schroppenstrasse and Annabergstrasse, the driver finally lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree head-on, which snapped off as a result of the impact. The driver got out of the vehicle after the accident and fled on foot. However, the patrol crew was able to catch and arrest the fugitive after about 300 meters. as it turned outthe 43-year-old did not have a valid driver's license and, in addition to a small amount of narcotics, was carrying a crowbar and several bags of alleged stolen goods in his VW Golf. In addition, there was an arrest warrant against the driver, which is why the man was ultimately transferred to a detention center.
