A Michigan woman spent days without the slightest idea that she had become a millionaire.
Laura Spears, 55, bought a lottery ticket online on December 31.
But
you forgot to check the results
and the email with the winning numbers went to your

or junk mail folder.
Days later, when he was going through that folder to locate another lost mail, he had a pleasant surprise: he had matched five numbers in the Michigan Lottery Mega Millions.
In addition, he had won the Megaplier for a total prize of three million dollars.

"I saw an ad on Facebook that said the Mega Millions
jackpot
was going up quite a bit in value, so I went into my account and bought a ticket," Spears told Michigan Lottery officials.

folder ."

“That's when I saw an email from the Lottery saying I had won a prize,” he said. “I couldn't believe what I was reading.

The woman said she plans to retire early with the award and wants to help her family.
If luck knocks on his door again, he said he will be more vigilant next time.
"I added the Michigan Lottery to my safe senders list," he joked.
The Mega Millions jackpot is currently up to $376 million.
Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night.
Tickets are two dollars and an additional dollar for the Megaplier, which triples the value of the prize.
