While giant companies like Facebook and Microsoft are already talking about the Matevers, virtual reality, and the future that Otto is already here, there are quite a few who disagree with the idea and cool the atmosphere. Now the former Sony CEO and the man who invented the first PlayStation console -

Ken Kotargi

- is also joining the critique

.

In a virtual world - and I do not understand the purpose for which it should be done. Living in the real world is very important. Would people rather be a sleek avatar than be themselves? It's actually no different from an anonymous bulletin board. "

Katurgi also criticizes virtual reality glasses that are becoming a trend and are slowly gaining momentum, and of course will be a necessary part for people who want to connect with Towers: "These virtual reality helmets are just annoying and will isolate us from the real world, you can not argue with that."

Although today's Sony company has a virtual reality division dating back to the previous generation and they are currently working on the PS VR2, Kotargi is not necessarily talking about the gaming aspect of the subject, but more about the social aspect to which we are supposedly headed.

The future is already here

Kotargi, 71, is considered the spiritual father of the PlayStation 1 console, and was the chief engineer who helped develop the console somewhere in the 1990s. Thanks to the console's massive success, he first became CEO of Sony and led the development and the company during the PlayStation 2 and 3, and retired in 2006.

Today, Kotargi is the CEO of the robotics company The Ascent, which also emphasizes integration between the virtual world For real, but it puts less emphasis on the virtual aspect and develops sophisticated robots with intelligence that can produce multiple products and color multiple tasks. So according to Katurgi's vision, in the future we will see the rise of machines (who said Skynet?) And not necessarily isolation, disconnection, and social alienation when each of the users is isolated in a virtual reality helmet.

What do you think of Kotargi's statement? Do you think he is right in the criticism he has passed, or do you think this is another case in which one refuses to move forward with the times?
