Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed today that the region is unstable due to foreign interference, pointing out that his country gives priority to cooperation with neighboring countries.
At the conclusion of the national conference of Iran and neighboring countries, Abdullahian said, "Iran's regional policy, which was built on the basis of providing security for the region, would end the external presence that destabilizes the security of the region," adding, "The countries of the region can play a role in providing regional security."
On the possibility of holding a meeting of foreign ministers between Iran and the 4+1 group, Abdullahian said, "Currently we have arranged talks at the level of senior experts, political directors and ministerial assistants, and we hope to enter into the implementation process at this level, and there is no need to hold meetings at a higher level, however, in light of the progress of the talks." A decision will be made on any further action.”
The Iranian foreign minister clarified that the new vision regarding consultation with all neighboring countries is definitely one of the priorities that we are following up during the ongoing talks in Vienna.
Abdullahian added that the Americans have repeatedly asked for talks, but we have not yet reached this point in our conclusions.
With regard to the Saudi aggression on Yemen, Abdullahian reiterated his country's need to find a peaceful solution to the crisis in this country and to adopt a political and constructive approach to end the humanitarian siege, end the war, accept a ceasefire and launch a Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue.
