2022-01-24T11:10:00.824Z

The 76-year-old Oscar winner was interviewed by "siriusxm" and stated that in her opinion cultural and entertainment professionals should delve into their profession and avoid entering into sensitive discussions • "I do not think this is our job", she says

Actress Goldie Hawn argues that celebrities and celebrities should not have their opinions on political issues.

In an interview with "siriusxm", the Oscar-winning actress said she prefers to avoid such discussions, and she thinks others in the field of culture and entertainment should do the same.

Moderator Megan Kelly opened the discussion by saying during the interview: "I think that's why people go crazy when Hollywood tries to act like a saint and starts lecturing to the average America about values, etc. People unrelated to this industry think to themselves 'you can keep your moral sermons to someone else.' ".

Capital agreed with the things, adding: "A lot of people in Hollywood have a lot of goals. You want your name to be identified with a goal that you believe in, but that doesn't really bring about change. And that's the reality."

The 76-year-old star said that entertainers should continue to engage only in entertainment, adding: "I stay on my path. The reality is that if we want to do something, we want to do it for everyone, not just for a certain group of people. Creating groups and camps only creates polarity. "I don't think it's our job. I think we need to entertain. I think we just bring awareness to people by their ability to laugh, enjoy, experience and cry. We are emotional beings who create emotions in others. It is our service."

Capital's remarks echo those of British comedian Ricky Jarvis at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards. During his speech, Jarvis reminded actors and actresses that they are merely famous, they are not morally superior and there is no point in spreading their political and social doctrine at the time of receiving their award.

"With all the austerity and struggle of people to get through their daily lives, they think 'why are these people preaching to me? Are they going to a awards ceremony in a limousine and telling me to recycle?'" Jarvis told The Sun.

"People are tired of it and I signal virtue. People who have nothing are tired of getting lectures from people who have everything."
