The justice system said goodbye today (Monday) to retired Supreme Court President Miriam Naor, who passed away at the age of 74.
Former Supreme Court President Prof. Aharon Barak said in an interview with the Neubach Foundation's program here: "

Retired Supreme Court Justice and Elyakim Rubinstein, who served as attorney general, told the same program: "We are friends on our right as students. Naor was characterized by tremendous integrity in all her ways. For me it was something to learn from. She was a middle-class woman, very Zionist."

Judge Naor was a groundbreaking woman, a respected judge in the court and president of the 11th Supreme Court, when in the last months of her life she headed the Meron Disaster State Commission of Inquiry.
Judge Naor sanctified the values of honesty, transparency and modesty while leading the judiciary.
"In her dedication and concern for the State of Israel, President Naor set an example and role model for equal opportunities and the supremacy of the rule of law in the State of Israel, may her memory be blessed."
