Aldi: Apple Watch at a bargain price - but buyers should read the small print

Aldi Süd has an unbeatable offer for all Apple fans: an Apple Watch for only 169 euros.
But be careful, this is not new.

Yes, there really is.
Next week, Aldi Süd will be offering the smartwatch at a ridiculous price.
But what's the catch?
After all, it is well known that Apple products are not for the tight budget.
Aldi: Offered Apple Watch is not new
From January 27, customers can buy the Apple Watch Series 3 from Aldi Süd.
The discounter announces this in its advertising brochure.
But customers should definitely take a close look here, since it is not a new product.
Next to the picture of the clocks is a blue icon with the text "Renewd.
Renewed Apple Watch”.
Under the technical data, Aldi once again points out that this is not a new product.
It says "This is my second life!
I contain minimal signs of wear.”
The Renewd company has set itself the goal of giving devices such as smartphones or smartwatches a second life.
The company checks the products for signs of use, checks whether everything is functional and checks the battery performance.
There is also a two-year guarantee.
In its prospectus, Aldi clearly indicated that it is a Renewd product.

Apple Watch: Is the Aldi offer worth it?
But is the bargain Apple Watch at Aldi worth it?
If you value having the latest technology, you should probably reconsider the offer.
Because the watch offered by Aldi is a slightly older model.
The latest Apple Watch is the Series 7, but it also costs at least 429 euros.
The Series 3 is available from Apple for 219 euros.
With the Renewd model you save 50 euros.
Not even that little.
However, prospective buyers should note that the battery performance of the Series 3 was not as good as it is in the newer models.
Of course, the battery performance continues to decrease with use.
So if you choose a Renewd watch, you should definitely keep that in mind.
Even small scratches or blemishes should not bother buyers.
However, buying a used smartwatch is always sustainable.
