Tegernsee's postal operator Marcel Hoffmann has no new premises for a branch after he canceled the old one because of the lack of space.

But there is still reason for hope.

Tegernsee – The time to save the post office in Tegernsee (Miesbach district) is running out.

As reported, operator Marcel Hoffmann has terminated his lease for the shop at Steinmetzplatz, which will end at the end of February.

He has been looking for new rooms since the beginning of December.

Instead of the previous 80 square meters, the area will only be half the size in the future, because Hoffmann no longer wants to accommodate the travel agency, which was almost idle due to Corona, there.

The businessman reports that his request has not been successful so far.

But he doesn't give up.

"I am aware of the responsibility for the city and its citizens," emphasizes Hoffmann.

After all, a post office is ultimately part of the basic service.

Operator wants to save branch

He has already received a few offers, says Hoffmann.

The access and parking options also proved to be difficult to solve.

Not only should customers be able to use at least short-term parking spaces, but the Post truck also needs a stopping zone for deliveries.

"I can't block Seestrasse every day," says Hoffmann.

Nevertheless, he gives the Tegernseern hope.

He put out his feelers in all directions.

I'll have a meeting with the mayor soon.

And he also has a plan B in his pocket.

He's not going to be more specific yet, but he insists: "I'm working flat out on it."

Hoffmann's involvement in the Leitzachtal shows that the entrepreneur is still serious about the postal business.

There he took over the branch in Aurach at the beginning of October - and thus saved it from collapse.
