The European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, called for not exaggerating about the Ukrainian crisis, pointing out that the European Union would not currently request the withdrawal of diplomatic families from Ukraine, as the United States did.

According to Agence France-Presse, Borrell said upon his arrival today to a meeting of European Union foreign ministers, which included the participation of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken via video: “I see no reason to be intimidated as long as the talks are ongoing, and we have not taken any decision to request the departure of the families of our diplomats from Ukraine unless we provide Blinken. information that justifies such a move.”

For its part, Ukraine declared that the US decision to evacuate the families of its diplomats in Kiev was premature and reflected "excessive caution."

Earlier in the day, the United States ordered the families of its diplomats in Kiev to leave Ukraine, under the allegations of "the continuing threat of Russian military action."
