China renewed its call on the United States to stop politicizing the fight against the coronavirus epidemic and stop interfering and restricting normal personnel exchanges between the two countries.
"We urge the United States to respect science, protect life, health and safety, actively strengthen epidemic prevention and control efforts, stop politicizing this issue, and stop restricting normal personnel exchanges between China and the United States," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said at his press conference today.
Zhao pointed out that the United States is seeking (exceptions and special treatment) in its own interest, as it unreasonably cancels China Airlines flights, interferes with its work, and ignores the life, health and safety of Chinese and foreign passengers, stressing this behavior is "unreasonable and highly irresponsible."
Zhao said that China will cancel many US flights to its territory in response to a similar measure taken by Washington.
China has repeatedly called for refraining from politicizing the issue of the Corona file and not limiting it to a specific country, stressing the need for the international community to reject all kinds of manipulation and politicization of the issue of the origin of Corona and to conduct research in many countries and regions to ensure preventing the outbreak of the pandemic and responding to it if it appears again in the future.
