Does Kretschmann consider easing to be responsible?

Stuttgart – In view of the warnings from the Federal Government's Council of Experts about the omicron wave, possible easing in Baden-Württemberg is again on the brink.

The state government wants to revise its Corona regulation shortly after the consultations of the federal and state governments today.

But after the judgment of the administrative court, which declared the freezing of alert level II with severe restrictions for the unvaccinated to be partly illegal, the country has to put its level system back into force. Because the burden on hospitals has decreased - relatively speaking - in the past few weeks, the government should actually relax the measures a little.

For example, a return to normal alert levels would mean that restaurants would only be 2G and no longer 2G plus. In retail, 3G would be possible again instead of 2G. But Kretschmann has already explained that the government reserves the right to adjust and possibly tighten the rules previously planned for the alarm level. According to experts, the course of the disease at Omikron is somewhat milder than at Delta, which has relieved the intensive care units. But the number of Covid patients in the clinics has recently increased again.

In the fight against omicron, the Federal Government's Expert Council is calling for the measures taken to date to be maintained and strictly implemented.

The experts even recommend arming yourself for a further sharp increase in the number of infections.

The chairman of the Prime Ministers' Conference, NRW Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU), has already stated that relaxing the 2G and 2G-plus rules in retail and gastronomy is not an option for him.

However, courts in Bavaria and Lower Saxony had recently overturned 2G in retail.
