In wintry road conditions, a 22-year-old from Garmisch-Partenkirchen caused an accident on Saturday afternoon, in which four people were slightly injured.

According to witnesses, he was traveling at very high speed in his Mercedes-Benz on the snow and slush-covered A 95 in the direction of Werdenfelser Land – and was unable to brake in time when a woman from Munich (25) switched to the left lane to face a clearing vehicle overtake. The balance of this accident: four slightly injured and 62,800 euros in damage.
According to the Weilheim traffic police, the two vehicles collided due to the lane change of the woman who was sitting in her Ford with a 26-year-old from the state capital and the high speed of the Garmisch-Partenkirchner. Despite emergency braking, the Mercedes-Benz hit the rear right side of the small car. The Werdenfelser's car, which was accompanied by a 29-year-old from the market town, then threw to the right and hit the rear of the clearing vehicle with his left side of the car. The crash barrier was also damaged. The vehicles came to a stop in the left lane.
According to the officials, the investigation of the accident took about an hour and a half.
The Mercedes was no longer drivable and had to be towed away.
The traffic could be diverted via the hard shoulder, so that there was no significant backlog.
Police are hoping for more witnesses to find out more about what happened.
The officials are also interested in whether the young man's white AMG-CLA-Mercedes coupé had previously attracted attention due to its high speed.
