Immense elegance by Caruana

The Italian-American Fabiano Caruana (Miami, 1992) has been a clear candidate for the world crown for years (he has been among the top ten in the world for a decade);

in fact, he tied his duel for the title (New York, 2016) with Magnus Carlsen, who won the quick tiebreaker.

Trained since his adolescence by several highly prestigious professionals, such as the Spanish-Russian Borís Slótnik, he shone a lot since he was a child with a universal style, a very deep understanding of strategy and high performance in very complex positions.

A beautiful example of both virtues is his victory in this video over the 2018 world runner-up, the Russian Sergei Kariakin, in the first round of the 2012 Masters Final, in the first round, which was played in Sao Paulo (the second was in Bilbao).

The elegance and brilliance that Caruana exhibits in order for his pair of bishops to dominate the board is unique to very exceptional chess players.
