In Bavaria, the Administrative Court overturned 2G in retail.

This corona rule still applies in Baden-Württemberg.

This leads to shopping tourism in Bavaria.

Munich – The retailers in Ulm are facing a problem: customers are running away from them – to Neu-Ulm*.

The town is eight minutes by car from Ulm and is located on Bavarian soil.

And that's exactly the problem.

Because while in Baden-Württemberg only vaccinated and recovered people are allowed to shop in shops, in the Free State of Bavaria unvaccinated people with a negative test also have access to shops again.

Bavaria: No 2G in retail - customers from Baden-Württemberg prefer to shop in Bavaria

In other parts of Germany such as Baden-Württemberg, this corona regulation still applies.

Retailers in Bavaria, for example in Neu-Ulm, can therefore look forward to additional customers from Baden-Württemberg.

However, the shopkeepers in our neighboring federal state lack the income.

"This state of affairs is unacceptable and means that the retail trade in Baden-Württemberg, which is already badly hit, is losing much-needed sales," Hermann Hutter told

.

The President of the Baden-Württemberg Retail Association (HBW) spoke of an absurd situation, since customers from areas close to the border would now increasingly shop there due to the abolition of the 2G rule in Bavaria.

Baden-Württemberg: FDP calls for 2G to be discontinued

Hans-Ulrich Rülke, the leader of the FDP parliamentary group in the Baden-Württemberg state parliament, is therefore also calling for the 2G rule to be abolished in his state, as the

further reports.

According to Rülke, Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) should suspend the Corona measures * to prevent shopping tourists from doing their shopping in neighboring federal states such as Bavaria.

However, a spokeswoman for the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry emphasized that the 2G rule in retail will be adhered to - despite the court decision in the neighboring Free State, writes the

Baden-Württemberg will therefore probably not be based on Bavaria.

Corona hammer in Bavaria: 2G rule in retail overturned

The Bavarian Administrative Court overturned the 2G rule in retail*.

"We are completely suspending 2G in retail in Bavaria and thus ensuring that the VGH decision is implemented quickly and practicably," said Head of State Florian Herrmann (CSU) immediately after the decision became known last Wednesday (January 19).

The court came to this verdict because the state government's resignation was not precise enough.

Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters) welcomed the decision of the Administrative Court.

“The retail trade had been calling for this relaxation for a long time, since the 2G control for the affected ranges meant a lot of effort and there is no particular risk of infection in retail due to the FFP2 masks*,” he told the
