Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed that the Russian army will not tolerate the growing military activities of NATO near the country's borders, stressing that President Vladimir Putin will take the required measures to defend its security and interests.

In a statement today, Peskov said that the source of the escalation of tensions over Ukraine lies in the media campaign accompanied by the dissemination of false information by the United States and NATO.

In a new escalation, NATO announced earlier today its intention to put reserve forces on alert and send ships and fighters under the pretext of strengthening its defenses in Eastern Europe.

Peskov described the current Western media activities on Ukraine as a hysteria of false information, recalling the recent publication of false news that was leaked as a result of a recommendation from the US State Department that Russia was evacuating its diplomats from Ukraine, which caused a campaign of hysteria.

Peskov cautioned against the statements published by NATO regarding the increase of military units on the eastern side, which lead to an increase in tensions in the region and alerted Moscow of the media disinformation campaign waged by the West about Ukraine, noting that Western countries have started using more serious platforms through the traditional official media to spread misinformation About the imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Peskov noted that it was Russia that initiated talks and consultations on security guarantees, and that it is awaiting a response to its proposals this week.

Peskov explained that the aim of these proposals is to prevent a recurrence of tension situations similar to those currently taking place in Europe, expressing regret that Russia is currently living in a hostile environment, given the statements issued by NATO.
