A Dutch tourist was arrested in Poland after marching on a visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp, local police said.
The 29-year-old tourist made the Nazi gesture in front of the "Labor Liberates" sign at the entrance to the camp.
She was accused of involvement in Nazi propaganda, and the authorities fined her which she agreed to pay.
Poland's official news agency reported that the woman, whose identity had not been released, said it was a "bad joke" and that her salute was raised by her husband.
The maximum penalty for promoting Nazi propaganda in Poland, which was under German occupation during World War II, is up to two years in prison.
