The Israel Police warns today (Monday) that in recent months there has been an increase in fraud and receiving anything fraudulently committed mainly against communities from the Commonwealth of Independent States, by making telephone contact and impersonating criminals with law enforcement officials, bank representatives and credit companies
.
According to the police, this trend is reflected in complaints filed at a station centered on a similar pattern of action.
According to the pattern of action, the victim receives a phone call in which an offender impersonates a bank / credit company employee, and warns the victim against attempting to break into his personal account.
In some cases, after the initial initial call from the credit / bank company, the victim is contacted by a person impersonating a lawyer or police officer, who requires him to identify him, including access to the bank account via an app, under the pretext of blocking the attempt to break into his account.
In other cases, the victim is told that his credit card has been canceled and he is required to deposit money into the 'new credit' account issued to him by the credit card company. The new credit opened for him as an alternative to canceled credit, through change / 'cash on time' positions spread across various places in the country.
