extremely shocked
" by the "
mercantile approach
" and the "
contempt
" of the doctor, his lawyer said on Monday January 24 in a statement to the AFP.

This doctor, not content with violating the medical secrecy of this patient, saw fit to describe on the online sales site the private life of this young woman, thus making her perfectly identifiable

seem to have taken the measure of his act since he did not hesitate to contact the victim on Sunday, to justify himself without showing the slightest regret, nor the slightest empathy for him

A “scandalous act”
According to Mediapart, which revealed the affair on Saturday, this renowned orthopedic surgeon, Emmanuel Masmejean, auctioned on OpenSea, a site specializing in the sale of NFT digital objects, the radio of a Bataclan survivor he had operated, on which we see a forearm pierced by a Kalashnikov bullet.
The boss of the AP-HP, Martin Hirsch, immediately announced that the hospitals of Paris were going to take legal action, denouncing a “
scandalous act
”.

The victim trusts the competent institutions and authorities to initiate all disciplinary and criminal proceedings so that such acts are no longer possible in the future
," said the young woman's lawyer. It also reserves “
the freedom to associate itself with these procedures, so that the exemplary nature of the sanctions is commensurate with the seriousness of the violation and the contempt shown by this doctor
”. According to Mediapart, the radio was on sale for the sum of 2776 dollars.
The surgeon acknowledged the facts to the investigation site, explaining that he had done it "
for an educational purpose
" and has since withdrawn the offer.
Assuring “
having asked the question from an ethical point of view

the error
” of not having asked the authorization of the operated patient.
