Rear-end collision with four injured: evening traffic jam in the direction of Munich

Four people involved were injured in a rear-end collision on Sunday evening on the A 8 near Holzkirchen.

In the evening return traffic from the ski areas, there was a crash on the motorway on Sunday (January 23).

A BMW drove into a VW bus near Holzkirchen.

According to the police, four people were injured, and a long traffic jam formed in the direction of Munich.

– Four people involved were injured in a rear-end collision on Sunday evening (January 23).

According to the highway police, the collision occurred around 6:10 p.m. in the direction of Munich, just before the Holzkirchen junction.

According to the press release, a 44-year-old woman from Munich was driving north in her BMW and a 38-year-old man was driving in his VW Bus T 5 in the middle lane.

Due to the heavy return traffic from the ski areas, progress was slow.

Due to carelessness and insufficient safety distance, the BMW driver drove into the VW bus in front of her.

The BMW was no longer drivable after the impact and stopped in the middle lane.

A total of four people involved suffered minor injuries.

According to the police, the two occupants of the BMW were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution by the ambulance service.

A towing service had to take care of the BMW.

The right and middle lane had to be closed for a short time to record the accident and while the BMW was being loaded.

There was therefore a four-kilometer traffic jam, which dissolved again after the two lanes were released.

The police estimate the total damage to property at around 10,000 euros.
