Reul: Attacks on employees more frequently and violently

North Rhine-Westphalia's Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) has complained about increasing aggressiveness towards public sector employees during the corona pandemic.

"The attacks have not only become more frequent, but also more violent," said Reul on Monday in Düsseldorf.

For emergency and rescue workers, police officers and employees of regulatory authorities, it is now part of everyday work to be mobbed, insulted or attacked.

Düsseldorf - "For some people, work has no longer felt safe in recent months and years," said the minister.

The newly founded network “Sicher im Dienst” is intended to help those affected to process attacks and threats.

"The public service deserves our protection," said Reul, referring to the nationwide project.
