School grounds become a major construction site

The school and sports operations are massively affected by the renovation work, which is scheduled to begin in the twelfth calendar week at the Jetzendorf elementary school.

A project worth millions is pending in Jetzendorf: the extensive renovation of the school and sports hall.

Jetzendorf – The school building in Jetzendorf will be a major construction site this year until well into the summer.

As the Pfaffenhofen architect Rita Obereisenbuchner assured the municipal council, the necessary renovation work on the interior of the school building should begin in the twelfth calendar week.

The extensive package of measures in the areas of heating and sanitation as well as insulation and ventilation also includes the attached gymnasium and, in part, the gymnastics center.

The architect assumes that there will be no standstill during the necessary work and that the noise pollution on the upper floor will be limited during school operations.

You start with the work in the attic of the school and want to continue working from top to bottom.

At the same time, the gym is to be tackled.

School windows only have to be partially replaced.

TSV Jetzendorf could not use the gym at least from April to August because of the construction work.

The architect wants to prevent craftsmen and pupils from crossing paths during the construction work, which should definitely be completed by the beginning of the new school year.

The major dismantling of the ventilation devices is planned for the Easter and Pentecost holidays.

There are no exact costs for the tiling work and the new windows, but everything else is included in the estimated 2.74 million euros.

Martin Regulator, who runs a heating and air conditioning company in Hettenshausen, was also available to answer questions from the local councillors. With reference to 49 implementation plans, Regeler made it clear that the entire building services in the Jetzendorf school building are to be upgraded. After all, a large part of the radiators can be reused. In the gym, where the flat roof renovation has already been completed, the entire ventilation system has to be dismantled.

The heating and hot water treatment for the entire project is operated by means of a biomass local heating network.

The boiler house will be completely renewed, and the entire drinking water treatment will be removed.

Regulator will rely on decentralized hot water preparation in the future.

The renewal of the entire drinking water network is necessary for hygienic reasons, and damage can already be seen in the old pipes.

The gym floor, which is still in good condition, does not have to be touched.

In the future, however, the gymnasium will be supplied with radiant heat by means of radiant ceiling panels, as is already the case in the gymnasium.

According to the architect, the large-scale construction project, which is being handled financially by the Jetzendorf municipal company, will not be able to go ahead without disrupting school operations.

"That's why we decided on a container system that will be set up on point foundations at the entrance to the teacher's residence.

The school children will be housed there in shifts during the construction phase,” emphasized Mayor Manfred Betzin.

The container facility, which could be purchased from Pfaffenhofen for 140,000 euros, has a circumference of nine by 27 meters and is already designed for three classes of children on the inside.

Betzin defends the renovation costs at the elementary school, which will ultimately amount to 3 million euros, with the fact that the building fabric, apart from the teacher's house, is still good.

They prefer to do without state subsidies, because it makes no sense to waste 25 percent of the new building amount uselessly just to benefit from subsidies.

As far as the renovation process is concerned, local councilor Simon Fottner (independent of the party) wanted to know whether there was an emergency plan for the corona pandemic.

"You can only knit a plan like this if you know what's going to happen," was the mayor's reply.

The primary goal is to secure and improve the Jetzendorf school location in the long term with the renovation of the building.

"Then this big investment is money well spent," emphasized Betzin.
