Signature campaign against Corona "walks" in Nuremberg - numerous mayors took part

Thousands regularly take to the streets in Nuremberg to demonstrate against the Corona measures.

With a signature campaign one defends against it now.

Nuremberg - There are clear words from the Alliance against right-wing extremism in the Nuremberg metropolitan region: "Those who stand for democracy do not stand with enemies of democracy on the street." Since December there have been reports of demonstrations disguised as so-called "walks" in many take place in cities and communities, worried - also in the metropolitan region of Nuremberg*.

According to Allianz, the demonstrations showed an increasing willingness to use violence.

With a signature campaign under the motto "Think along instead of across" one wants to distance oneself from Corona * deniers and Reich citizens.

Numerous mayors from the region have already signed.

Against Corona "walks": Nuremberg signature campaign finds support

In the unannounced demonstrations, the right of assembly is deliberately circumvented and "trampled underfoot," according to the statement from the Alliance against Right-Wing Extremists.

"Almost every day threats against politicians, journalists, police officers and representatives of civil society become public." The "walks" are partly hijacked by "right-wing extremist groups and parties".

Criticism of the Corona measures is possible and necessary in a democracy.

However, each individual must be aware not to put their criticism in the “service of the enemies of our democracy” and to question who they are taking to the streets with.

A Bamberg psychologist takes a similar view.

He believes that participants in these demos often do not even see that they are being manipulated*.

Among others, Nuremberg mayor Marcus König (CSU), Bamberg mayor Andreas Sarke (SPD), Erlangen mayor Florian Janik (SPD) and Schwabach mayor Peter Reiß (SPD).

Corona demo with several thousand participants planned for Monday

Another protest against the Corona measures is planned for Nuremberg on Monday (January 24).
