A taxi driver boarded the Inntal Autobahn at 176 km/h in snow and fog.
The police in Austria stopped the speeder.
His excuse left the officials cold.
Vienna – Despite the snow, fog and slush, a 27-year-old raced in a taxi on the A12 Inntalautobahn between Wattens and Hall (Austria).
The young man was alone in a taxi around 2:30 p.m. on January 22.
He accelerated his car first to 176 km/h and later to 169 km/h.
There is a speed limit of 100 on the route.
The 27-year-old only slowed down when he caught up with his taxi to a slower column of vehicles in front of him, the Tyrol police said on Sunday (January 23).
Here, too, the safety distance to the vehicles in front was clearly undercut.
Because of a "sick cat": Taxi traveling at 176 km/h
Because of his "sick cat" he had to go home urgently, the man gave as a justification to the police.
In the course of the official act, the driver's license was taken from him on the spot by a civil patrol by the state traffic department and he was forbidden to continue driving.
The 27-year-old must expect a display of serious speeding under particularly dangerous conditions.
However, the Tyrol police did not say whether the 27-year-old actually owned a cat.
