Syrian and Russian military planes toured together on Monday in the airspace along the Syrian border and plan to make such flights regular, the Interfax news agency quoted the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The group's path, which includes fighter jets, bombers and early warning and control planes, included the Golan Heights, the armistice line with Israel that saw regular Israeli airstrikes against suspicious positions of Iran and Hezbollah.
Russian forces have been present in Syria since 2015 when they helped tip the scales in the civil war in favor of President Bashar Assad.
This month, witnesses and rebel sources said Russian planes had bombed areas near the northwestern Syrian city of Idlib, the last stronghold controlled by the opposition.
