Police arrested two men from Hong Kong, Maldives at Hong Kong International Airport in December 2018 and seized 6.98kg of cocaine with a market value of about $7.2 million in their suitcases.
They pleaded guilty to one count of drug trafficking earlier and were sentenced to 12 years and 10 months in prison in the High Court today (24th) and 13 years and 6 months respectively.

It is reported that the two defendants were promised 30,000 and 50,000 yuan respectively, but they were arrested without being paid.
