The coffee house in the listed Feldafinger train station will be called "Miss Rosalie" in the future.

The new tenants Franziska and Leopold Glas want to start operations from April 1st.

The two are experienced restaurateurs and are looking forward to their fourth café-bistro.

Feldafing

– Who gets the café in the Feldafing train station? This question drives the citizens of Feldafinger. "Wherever I am, whether I'm shopping or spending an evening with friends, people ask me that," says Mayor Bernhard Sontheim. Now he can give a satisfactory answer: the siblings Franziska and Leopold Glas were awarded the contract for the gastronomy in the listed train station. They convinced the Feldafinger main and finance committee with their presentation, so that the municipal council at its most recent meeting gladly followed the committee's suggestion and voted unanimously for the siblings.

The Glas siblings, who grew up in Pöcking and now live in Weilheim, have experience. Since 2011, the two of them - she studied works council, he learned system catering at McDonald's - have been self-employed as restaurateurs, they now run three bistros: the "Marmitas" and the Café Rosalie in Weilheim as well as the "Fräulein Rosalie" in Murnau. According to the same principle as these three café-bistros, the operation in Feldafing should run, as Franziska Glas (37) says in an interview with Starnberger Merkur. "We offer breakfast, coffee and cake, lunch, pasta, soups, snacks and panini." For example, there are pasta with different sauces, plus the organic soups from the "Marmitas", Franziska Glas promises. "Indian lentil soup, tomato and rosemary soup, chili con carne, goulash soup and potato soup",count them up. When it comes to breakfast, you can choose from a small croissant breakfast to a large breakfast for two. There are vegan and gluten-free cakes that come from a craft business. "We leave the baking to the professionals," says Franziska Glas. Everything is on offer, from Black Forest cherry to marble cake.

All food, including breakfast, is available to take away, which has proven itself during the Corona period, says the young woman.

"We work with Rebowl," she explains.

These are reusable to-go harnesses.

"We don't use any disposable packaging at all," she emphasizes.

The two want to open up on April 1st. "It's a Friday, that fits quite well," says Franziska Glas. The plan is to operate from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. "That can change, let's see how the frequency is," says the landlady. In summer it should be open from Thursday to Saturday until 9 p.m. "so that you can drink a glass of wine or an Aperol Sprizz". The facility remains as it was. “The inside seating is from the municipality, we only have to get the outside seating,” says Glas. And also a few individual pieces and decorations for the guest room. All in all, they really liked the space in the old Feldafing town hall during the one visit so far. The Glas siblings also want to use the Rathaussaal. "In Weilheim we also invite you to cabaret evenings, for example with Holger Paetz, and to concerts.”

Mayor Sontheim is looking forward to the new hosts.

Three interested parties had registered in the committee, two had also appeared.

The Glas siblings "totally won over the committee with their friendliness and competence," he says.

"These are young people who have both feet on the ground and are already successful in Murnau and Weilheim."
